The sun and its rays represent a brighter future for the Indigenous youth thanks to the GO Foundation and their scholarships which takes the students to new heights which are visible when viewed with the 3D glasses. The community symbol represents the great game of AFL and the footprints represent the many spectators that come to watch and support the game.
Brooke Sutton is a 14 year-old emerging contemporary Aboriginal artist from Queensland. Brooke’s Great, Great, Great Grandmother is an apical ancestor of the Kalkadoon people woman from the emu foot province around the Mount Isa. Brooke’s older sister is artist Chern’ee Sutton, and they are related to Charlie Perkins, the renowned Aboriginal activist who led the Freedom Ride in the late 1960’s. Brooke developed her passion for painting when she was eight. Her work is visually unique in colour, composition and texture. Brooke has won local art competitions and is already building a reputable client base capturing the eyes of Government departments and collectors from around the world.
