A bequest is an opportunity to make a tangible and lasting legacy to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students beyond your lifetime.
In making provisions for The Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation Limited (GO Foundation) in your Will you will provide support for GO to fund scholarships, capacity building and day to day operations.
GO is the legacy of Adam Goodes and Michael O'Loughlin. Both men have a desire to be remembered for more than just playing football. Your support of GO in your Will can be your legacy to help us support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students through school and beyond to achieve their dreams. You will be helping to build strong communities and to inspire students to be the next generation of role models and leaders.
With your support we can make a bigger difference by providing:
GO has a vision to be around forever. We want to be sustainable and be able to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and communities long term. Read our five year Strategic Plan here. You can see that our plan is to stay working in Sydney, Canberra and Adelaide until 2027 but beyond that time we will look to move into more cities.
You can choose to contribute financially, beyond your lifetime to enhance opportunities for future generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. You can help to continue the incredible work of Adam and Michael for those who will come after you.
A bequest may be unrestricted or designated for a particular use. Ways of making a bequest include a sum of money, a percentage of your estate or a specific asset. Every bequest will ensure that our the dreams of GO’s students become a reality.

Speak to your family and loved ones. This is a personal decision for you to make, but we recommend letting your loved ones know you plan to leave a gift to The GO Foundation so they are aware of your decision.
Decide what kind of gift to leave you will leave. There are three main ways to leave a Gift in your Will to The GO Foundation:
A residual bequest: You can make a gift of the residue (or remainder), or a percentage of the residue, of your estate once specific gifts and expenses have been taken care of.
A specified amount: You can make a specific bequest by simply stating the dollar amount in your Will that you wish to leave to The GO Foundation.
An asset: You may wish to make a gift of a specific asset, for example real estate, shares of bonds, or an item of particular value.
Your Will is an important legal document and a solicitor can help make sure the paperwork is in order and the Will is worded correctly and presented the right way.
Making your Will - Your Will must be in writing (handwritten, printed or typed) and include specific wording, a suggestion for this is provided below. It must be signed and dated on every page.
Your signature must be witnessed by two people who are not named as beneficiaries of your estate. They both need to sign their own name on every page of your Will. Your solicitor will be able to assist you with this if needed.
If you have already written your Will, the easiest way to make a gift to The GO Foundation is to add a codicil, a short legal amendment that a solicitor can assist you with.
