1st April 2026
These school visits are a great opportunity to check in with Scholars, hear how they’re settling back into routine, and offer support as they dive into their studies. Full of their usual spark, students were also eager to share stories of the fun adventures that they got up to over their summer break.
It wasn’t just the Scholars we loved catching up with – the visits also gave us the chance to reconnect with teachers and school staff. Building strong relationships with schools and support teams is such an important part of the GO Program, and we love working alongside them as Term 1 gets underway.
As part of these visits, our Scholars received welcome packs, kindly provided by our partners at Bloomberg – and the reactions from students were priceless!
Primary Scholars enjoyed colouring books and pencil packs, while high school Scholars were introduced to something new – a GO journal to help them stay organised, track their schedules and feel motivated with messages from our team throughout the year. Along with these, each Scholar received a pre-paid Visa card to support their school essentials in 2026.
While the welcome packs were a treat for Scholars, the best part for us was simply seeing the Scholars.
“As adults we often forget how much there is to learn from young people. Studying as a teacher, I learn more from kids than they probably do from me. I learn so much from them,” said Tyran Hill, Wiilman Noongar man and Scholarships Program Manager.
“The highlight of my job is going to see the kids face-to-face – like at the school visits or just kicking around a footy,” added Jay.
It’s been wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new students into the GO Program after the holidays. We’re looking forward to sharing even more of these special moments with our Scholars throughout 2026.
